As my printer is on a Network I had previously checked out this printers info using my networked Win PC. Then In the desktop I searched for Printers. home//Downloads/fflinuxprint_1.1.3-4_amd64/usr/share/ppd/fujifilm/fflinuxprint.ppd PPD = PostScript Printer Driver in case you’re wondering. In the usr directory is the PPD file that you will eventually need. I extracted that also after which two further directories appeared… usr and etc. Inside that directory is another still compressed directory called. A new (unzipped) directory of the same name appeared. Then I extracted (unzipped) the deb file. In the place where I downloaded the file, I opened a terminal screen (in that directory) and installed the deb package…. I chose Linux OS and after a second or two, this came up…Īnd I downloaded the suggested driver file in. Then did a Google search for the “linux driver ApeosPort 2560” and found this page… I don’t think it was actually, I don’t think the install actually covered my printer model, but it’s an interesting site even if the driver version it made reference to may have been a bit old. Sudo apt-get install printer-driver-fujixeroxĪctually I’m not sure if that was necessary.

The driver (in ‘deb’ format) was actually provided by fujifilm. I use Linux Mint 21 Cinnamon (based on Ubuntu 22 Jammy Jellyfish, which in turn is based on debian, hence “deb” packages are the most common & simplest way to install stuff) and the printer was a FujiXerox ApeosPort C2560 printer. Hopefully what I write here may give clues to someone hoping to get their Linux laptop printing on a similar kind of network. 1 (Updated 24th March 2023, new IP and fresh OS)
